After teasing us on social media last week, more details have been released about the upcoming Battlerite Pro League. And the exciting news is that Battlerite is having its first LAN event! Finally the battle of the regions can be played out on equal footing with no ping excuses.
Season 1 of Battlerite Pro League will feature a showdown of the best-of-the-best in Europe, North America, South America and Korea as they battle for a slice of the huge $80,000 prizepool. Starting April 12 there will be a series of Open Qualifiers in each region to see which teams will make it into the Pro League. Then over the course of 5 weeks through to the end of May, 8 teams in each region will fight for a total of $13,000 and a place at the Season 1 finale.
The grand culmination of this will take place at Dreamhack Summer 2018 in Jönköping, Sweden. The top 2 teams from each region will be invited to compete against each other for a chance to win part of the $25,000 LAN finale prizepool.
This is an important step in the progress of Battlerite esports and a chance to showcase it on the big stage. It will also be a nice opportunity to demonstrate the new VR controlled spectator feature, CamCrew, which should give us some great cinematic shots and dazzle the audience.
Dreamhack Summer 2018 takes place from June 16 to June 19 and tickets are available on their website. Who’s excited to put the age old question to rest and see who comes out on top at the first Battlerite LAN?
